Friendly company, brand new car, cannot complain - and I would definitely recommend them. Downside: I can see why they have marketed themselves with an 18 a week rate - but that’s clearly not going to work as a business. I took the ‘full insurance’ to avoid any issues - which was 196 and no block on my card. Which is an ‘honest, all inclusive rate’ of 30 a day - which is fine.

Have had a good experience with them . Staff are friendly and customer orientated. Most of the cars are new ,maybe a bit on the small size . But you get what you pay for .

Heathrow agency is incredibly ineffective, I thought I made a good deal by renting a 20 car for a day, but then started the 3 hours challenge to get the car. Nobody replied to the phone number given in the booking despite many calls, after around 10 attempts and 30min, someone finally picked up to announce that the shuttle will come in 30min. After 1 hour waiting still no shuttle, we could see one shuttle every 10min of all the other car rentals companies, but no goldcar!! Finally we had no choice but to take a taxi. When we arrived at the agency, we had to queue another 2h to finally get the car!!! The guy at the desk didn’t look happy to be there, looks like it happens a lot (other clients were also angry). And finally I learnt that I needed to pay an additional 45/day mandatory insurrance to get the car because my Visa Premier which worked without any problems with a lot of other car rentals companies didn't allow them to take the money reserve. I finally get the car after having spent an extra 7 in phone calls, 24 in taxi, 45 insurrance, and 3 hours, and it was not even cleaned from the last customer!! At this point, it is even funny to be see a company so pitiful. Btw, even the driver of another shuttle (Dollar) told me I should have avoided Goldcar as they are known to be bad. I really advise to everyone to avoid goldcar which is a shame and the worst experience I ever had with a service company.

Hi Guys I have rented car recently from Gold Car staff Jimmy is nice & friendly however after returning back car... 1. It’s been 10days I still haven’t received my deposit when I call to customer service they’re not given right answer. 2. Gold car office doesn’t have their direct number they only got customer service number & customers service doesn’t have any excess regarding your agreement.

I was honestly freaking out once I saw these reviews as I had already booked the car. I decided to risk and went for it anyways.... If you read T&Cs and bring all the documents you are required to bring with you, you will be fine. They offer the best prices and car was okay too. Still not a 5* company of course but they do have to deal with some rude customers who were just lazy and made assumptions instead of reading T&Cs. Giving high rating because amazing value for money and good car. Customer Service still needs to be improved.

Booked car for a week. Upon return, the desk staff informed me that I had exceeded the 90 miles per day limit and that additional charges would be levied. I made it absolutely clear to the desk staff that not only had I not exceeded the limit on any day, my overall mileage was well within the stated range. They then proceeded to give me a figure that was 600 miles more than I had done (more than double the mileage I had travelled). The only proof they would accept was a photograph of the digital display (who does that!!!???) at the start of the trip verified by one of their staff at that time. My 102 rental became 225 in the.blink of an eye. After requesting to speak to the on-duty manager, the desk staff then explained that I would not be charged as I was clearly an honest person. Three days later I received the excess charge bill. My experience of this company is that they are a bunch of con merchants, liars and their business is based upon ripping-off customers. DO NOT USE GOLDCAR!!!! If you are unfortunate enough to have already made a booking then try and cancel it ASAP. If you can’t do that, make sure that you photograph everything and if there are any discrepancies, however minor, drag the desk staff out to the car and make them change the contract on the spot - do not be fobbed of by excuses and most definitely don’t believe them if they say they will make the changes later. They lie!

Not recomended ! Loss of deposit ! In December I have rented 2 cars / two contracts with Gold Car in Ibiza. I have got only one deposit back. After contacting Gold Car they confirmed that they have returned both, but on the infoline no one wanted to help me neighter to send me any more details about second deposit. After claiming charge back I found out that the missing deposit was returned, BUT TO THE WRONG ACCOUNT AND WRONG PERSON. I spent 3 months to get this information thanks to the bank as no one wanted to help me from Gold Car. And still no one seems to care to check, where are my money... I am left without 1200 EURO....

Very disappointed...its been more than a month and my deposit amount has not been returned. Rule was 15 days and now everyday I have to chase them up for the amount. I am still keeping calm but if this continued then very soon i might take legal action against them.
