Had takeaway meals of burger and chips and fish and chips. Both meals were really good, tasty and well cooked. The landlady was very friendly and welcoming, despite the current strange circumstances. Pick up of the meal was well organised. All packaging of the meal was environmentally aware too. A major plus was being able to eat it on their picnic table on the grass at the front of the pub in November.

I could not find one fault with the meal and experience we had at the Victory. The food was delicious, if only we could have tried more because everything was so good. Staff were friendly and the service was perfectly timed. The pub has implemented COVID rules however they do not take away from the experience and you feel perfectly safe (all staff wore face masks). Definitely recommend visiting and supporting a local pub.

Had a lovely lunch here today, staff very friendly and wore masks. We were asked to wear them also just to the table. Hand sanitizer available. Food was delicious and well cooked. We will return!

Very friendly good food. Lovely people. Social distancing strongly practiced. Not rammed down your throat, that's for the food. Delicious

My partner and I showed up around 12pm on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago without a reservation and the manager and staff were super kind and measured no efforts to try and accommodate us even though they were fully booked. The food, from start to finish, was simply amazing. We had this lovely crispy calamari fritti for starters which was delicious (the dipping sauce that came with it was divine!) and I had the grilled swordfish cooked to perfection, tender, juicy and accompanied by this most delightful Mediterranean summer roasted vegetables. The desserts were beautifully presented, delicately petite and full of flavours (nothing puts me off more, like most other pubs do, when I'm served a huge piece of dessert that looks like a brick in my plate - I strongly believe that when it comes to desserts, you're meant to be left with a feeling of wanting more and not with a sugar comatose). We'd driven 1h30min from London to visit a local attraction, Nymans, but this pub was definitely the highlight of the day. Great service, amazing food and beautiful location with lots of parking space. We'd easily drive back 1h30min just to eat there again. Highly recommended.
