There is no more law enforcement by traffic department whatsoever. Taxis are free to stoo anywhere to load or drop passengers. They obstruct flow of traffic especially at the traffic circle at the entrabce of the two malls and also between Shoprite road and Kruger Park Lodge. There is two lanes but one lane is ALWAYS un accessible becaus this is the main place where these lawless taxis get their customers. The third place is at the 4 way entrance to the Holiday town where thwy stop inside the intersection and overtake on the left proceeding straight where the lane is reserved for turning left only and jumping the stop signs. Complaints about tgis directed to local traffic officers just yielded answers like "we don't have vehicles for enforcing the law" or "we have no blue lamps" The same road there are about 5 big unroadworthy tipper trucks that drive in and out of Hazyview to and from Vuka crushers several times per day of which not one has valid number plates or any licence disk. One traffic officer told us the reason why these are left to drive like this for years now is that they are scared of the owners... Because they are "dangerous" and it is better to be on their good side. The same applies to very unroadworthy tipper and water tanker trucks coming from Sandriver area. What kind of traffic department is this? No law and order on our road anymore. Stand at the 4 way shoos from 5 in the evening and you will see 90% of vehicles - mostky taxis with passengers jumping the stop signs at high speed. This has got to end. Someone must do something.
