My mother and brother have lived on the assisted living side of the facility for the past six months. The building is fresh and lovely, with many serene spaces for visiting, TV, or to enjoy the social events. Nature is very important to well-being, and favorite spaces are the pond and patio, with woods and lots of wildlife, as well as the inner courtyard for events. The two-bedroom apartment is spacious, with a homey, bright and open feel, and perfectly arranged for senior convenience and safety. The food is excellent (shout-out to Chef Charles) and plentiful, which warrants a daily visit to the very nice gym! The in-house medical care has improved greatly in recent months, although it remains important that family members remain engaged and communicate with medical personnel to ensure good medical care. The caregivers are generally short staffed, but I hear that is common at any assisted living facility. The best aspect of Heartis has been the lengths to which the activity staff, chefs, and others have gone to make my family members feel cared for. Hardly a day goes by that I don't hear of some sweet gesture on the part of the staff.

I would highly recommend this facility. My Mom was fortunate to be a part of the Heartis Village Memory Care unit for just under a year. The room was spacious and beautiful, as was the entire facility. My biggest praise goes for the staff. From the moment my Mom moved in, they were friendly, attentive and treated my Mom with dignity and respect. I cannot thank them enough for taking care of my Mom.

Our family is so appreciative of the care provided to our loved ones by Heartis staff during this very difficult year. They have been flexible and responsive to our needs, and most importantly have done their utmost to care for our parents during this time when we are unable to be as present as we would want to be due to Covid19. The facility, grounds and apartments are beautiful and the programming staff goes above and beyond in providing opportunities for residents to remain engaged. We’re so grateful to the staff at Heartis for their efforts and hard work during this very challenging time.

Heartis Village North Shore is a beautiful community. They try to meet all the needs and requests of the residents. It has been a very good move for our mother.

Management is poor and compassion and care is non existent. We removed our loved one from this facility. Both parents were infected with COVID while there and my step father passed due to COVID this past week. My mother who has dementia also got COVID while sequestered there for months. She was neglected and uncared for while my step father spent a month in the hospital fighting for his life. Never once did anyone at Heartis ask about their well being or have any compassion for the situation. We were told we could not move my mother out due to COVID ed phase\, but I confirmed they'll take your money and move you in during ed phase\. Please beware- it's all about money at this establishment. Our experience at Heartis was heartbreaking and the executive director treated my parents horribly and made an already very difficult situation with our loss even worse. They are tone deaf and could care less about the well being of their residents. If I can prevent one family from going through what we endoured, I helped. Julie Ticcioni, There were many opportunities to work together and yet you refused. Your response to this review is superficial and rudimentary. There is no communication between us nor have you been willing to work with me on any level. You are spiteful and have had no compassion for my parents wellbeing. I hope to have a better understanding of why you treated my parents so poorly after the ombudsman investigation.
