Pennells Carpets fitted a vinyl floor covering to the kitchen in our rental property 12 months ago. Julian, the owner of Pennells, came out and measured up and recommended a particular vinyl floor covering. Not knowing much about vinyl, I trusted his advice and went ahead with his recommendation. Just a few weeks ago, I found out that the vinyl had started to lift off the floor and stretch near the table and chairs. I contacted Julian about the issue and he went and inspected it. I was told that the vinyl was not suitable for use with furniture (i.e chairs) and as a result of moving the chairs the vinyl had stretched. I was taken aback when Julian said it was the wrong grade of vinyl - the one he had specifically recommended, with no mention at all about these limitations. He told me there was nothing he was prepared to do as I was responsible for ordering the wrong vinyl. Based on the size of the kitchen, there is clearly more than enough space for tables and chairs and it being a rental, it’s without a doubt that a tenant would use this space as an eating area at some point in time. I assumed Julian would accept that he had made a mistake and would correct the issue. I'm generally disappointed that they recommended the wrong product and I'm the one supposedly at fault for trusting their recommendation. I would recommend looking for another company to fit your vinyl or carpet.

Really impressed with the service from Pennells, great value for money, high quality carpets. The entire team were fantastic from taking the initial measurements to installation. I would not hesitate to recommend.
Long established firm with properly trained fitters and quality flooring. We have used them over many years. They are 100% reliable with a better customer service and higher quality work than the normal high street chains. I would highly recommend them.
I've just had a new bathroom floor laid today by one of the fitters from Pennells in Heathfield. It looks so good and has completely transformed the bathroom. I'm so happy with it! I have actually already made an enquiry already to book them up again for another job. They were organised from the start, helped me choose what would be best for me, sent a quote through quickly after measuring, gave me a time and date that suited me and carried out a great job! I always love supporting local businesses, and especially ones that are great at what they do!
Fantastic service no pressure to buy and brilliant fitters . Would recommend to anyone.
