Isolated, but in a good way. Great views. Don't try and drive there unless you've got a 4x4. Luxurious private getaway in the Pennines.

We, a party of 6, 3 couples between the ages of 30 and 55, stayed at Coiners Barn, the AirBNB premises attached to Bell House Farm. Overall the barn has been converted (rebuilt) to a good standard. The owner and hostess Liz, is lovely. She went out of her way to prepare the barn for our stay in terms of decorations to celebrate a baby on the way for my wife and I, a pleasant surprise. Even baking us a cake! Barn layout is good, though compact. Open plan downstairs over two levels, cosy kitchen, comfy sofas, 3 nice size bedrooms all with en suites. Very quiet location out in the sticks accessed via a lethal farm track, the owner will collect you at the end of the lane in vehicles suitable to the task. Excellent views over the town and countryside. The use of a little Suzuki Jimny, great fun! And a hot tub. The slight downsides are these: Overall cleanliness in the barn was not up to a good enough standard. Curtains when moved had thick layers of dust that spilled onto the bed. Large cobwebs connecting beds and side tables in all rooms. Downstairs carpet had not been cleaned in some time. Lounge t.v. with built in blu-ray player would not eject whatever disc was in there. Finishing touches were lacking, e.g. all en suite sinks had gaping holes behind them with sight of the inner wall and under the floorboards. We had a mouse appear at one of these and scare the life out of one of our friends while she was on the loo. One en suite ceiling leaked heavily during rainfall. Information boards on the walls in the downstairs area made you feel like you were in a visitor centre. That being said... the venue, location and hosts are charming. It just needs a few tweaks.
