We spent a couple nights at Block Rock and had a great time. The resort is a special place and they have done a great job of doing the little things that make a difference. Our room was top notch. Plenty of space to relax and take in the scenery. The pool, sauna, game room were all excellent. The staff were great, friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend staying here and I hope to visit again.

Staying here now so I’d like to provide a real time review. From the moment we arrived the staff has been accommodating, whether a simple request for more coffee, towels, etc to larger concerns such as missing or inoperable items in the condo. Some constructive criticism for hotel management is as follows 1. I burnt my hands today trying to take something out of the oven. Towels won’t cut it when it comes to gas stoves so please get oven mitts in the kitchens ASAP. 2. The exit door to the hot tub and pool locks you inside the building without an access card, this is a fire hazard. Major! Please fix this so people can exit the building without a card in hand. Other than those concerns, the property is gorgeous and a great value. Close proximity to just about everything, beautifully decorated and very welcoming. The gym is great and equipment is modern. Hot tub and pool are awesome! The staff is upbeat and friendly. They bend over backwards to see guests happy, genuinely. I left a five star review because albeit the experience wasn’t 100% flawless, it’s understandable given that they are new and doing a phased opening. We would certainly return again and be happy to stay here and recommend this location to friends and family.
It is really nice. We were close to Park City but far enough away to enjoy the dark sky and mountain views. It was elegant, welcoming and sparkling new. We were greeted by a friendly, cordial front desk. Everything was in order and we were in the room in no time. The arcade and game lounge were well equipped and great fun. We didn't come equipped for swimming but we checked out the steaming outdoor pool and spa in a spring snow storm. We understand that the restaurant will open in a few days. We look forward to returning in the future to check it out. Black Rock Mountain Resort is an experience!
We are currently in the middle of a 2-night stay in a 1 bedroom Griffin suite, and the room is pretty nice. PROS: Cleanliness. The resort has only been open for 2 weeks so everything is brand new and extremely clean. The kitchen. It is a good size and comes with everything you need, which was a pleasant surprise. Staff. We haven’t had a lot of interaction with the staff, but they seem to be very accommodating. CONS: Construction. Unfortunately, this is kind of a nightmare, and is really impacting our stay. For a couple parents on a stay-cation away from the kids, we were really hoping to catch up on some much needed sleep. Not the case. Construction began around 6:30-7:00 am and it’s LOUD. Unfortunately, there is no way to sleep through it. I realize this won’t always be a problem, but right now it’s really terrible. THE PILLOWS. Ultimately the bed is big and very comfortable, but the pillows are TERRIBLE. They are way too high/full. There really is no way to get comfortable laying on them, and my neck was very stiff in the morning. The Restaurant. It really is too bad that they opened the resort without having an open restaurant. There is a small store in the lobby that has a couple basic pastry items, but there is no way to get a meal unless you make the 10-15 minute drive to another place. The resort is a little out of the way, so it makes it kind of inconvenient; especially for breakfast. I could list a few more things but don’t want to get too nitpicky. With everything taken into account, it’s a pretty nice place. However, due to some of the things listed above (especially the pillows), I’m not sure my wife and I will be staying here again.
What a horrible experience. First, check in was a nightmare, Took over two hours to give us a room key because their computer system was new and had glitches. Then they gave us a key to a room which was occupied already, and we almost got attacked by the occupants, who believed we were intruders. Then another 30 minute wait for a new key to a new room. The new room was not what we paid for, we paid for a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen. What they gave us was their entry-level cheapest room they had. They clearly gave our room to someone else, or the room wasn’t ready yet. After showing them the proof of the room that we purchased along with pictures which were on their website, They still refused to compensate us the difference in price, or give us the correct room. So much construction going on you can barely sleep past 6 AM. They charge you a high resort fee, because of the amenities, that most of the amenities aren’t built or they are closed. This place is a joke. They boast of a beautiful restaurant, but the restaurant is not even built yet. This is a big deal because the closest restaurant is over 15 minutes away by car. This will someday be a nice resort but definitely not anytime soon. We gave the management ample amount of time to fix and remedy this problem, but after four days they still refused to compensate us the difference in the rooms or help us in anyway. All they did is say, “ we understand and we are sorry, but there’s nothing else we could do.”
We stayed in the Holland 2 bedroom condo. Our stay was the first weekend they were open and we absolutely loved our stay. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We felt like we were the only guests at the resort. We used the shuttle to Deer Valley ski resort. It was great. Dropped us off right at the door and picked us up in the same location. Because they don’t have a restaurant open right now they offered to pick up our take out for us. The room was great and fit our family of 6 very comfortably. Looking forward to the resort to be finished. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great experience.
Excellent experience. This is a brand new hotel, so there is naturally, some room for improvement; however, they are doing an excellent job! The staff was always upbeat, friendly and more than willing to accommodate customers. Some more PROS: Great location, close to everything, including whole foods! Beautifully decorated. Friendly staff. Fully furnished units with kitchen and fireplace. Great pool and hot tub with scenic views. Modern fitness center. Ample parking (garage not open yet). Room for improvement: The PILLOWS!! I noticed that other reviewers had the same issue, the pillows are too "full" and are very uncomfortable. Please get some lower profile pillows! Kitchen: Please add some more basic supplies such as 1. dishwasher soap/pods , 2. oven mitts, 3. salt and pepper/oil Overall, a true 5 star experience, especially given the circumstances that they are still in a phased opening of the hotel. Most notable is the friendly and accommodating staff. A
Couldn’t have enjoyed our stay here any more! Great location & every single employee was so kind. The rooms were clean, and beds extremely comfortable! The bar has the best cocktails, and my kids loved the arcade. I honestly can’t say enough good things. We can’t wait to go back!
