Beautiful stave church and such a beautiful Norwegian landscape around! This stave churches location is the perfect image of the country side of Norway, a cultural and important mark in Norwegian history and how we've lived for thousands of years!
My favourite stavkirke containing the beautiful Hedalen Madonna and a alter piece with Christ expressed in pain. I love the simplicity in the expression of these sculptures. Dont miss the details in and outside the church, for example the scary beasts around the key hole for evil spirits not to enter...
I saw this for the second time. Last time was in 2005. It is along the picturesque route Nes i Ådal to Nesbyen, road 243. One of the nicer stave churches to see, and it also has a nice little museum. Very, very worthwhile !!
Beautiful and old Stav Church in Hedalen. Well worth a visit. Not many more of those, left out in the wild.
Here you can feel the time fragrance.

Church is very unique in European scale. Not so many we can find around us. This church is from XII century.
