The castle and gardens of Hex are a well known meeting place for plant enthusiasts and horticulturalist. Twice a year there is a plant fair (spring and autumn)

What a terrible experience. I had expected beautiful castle gardens, despite the high entrance fee. but nothing could be further from the truth, the gardens are poorly maintained and there is hardly any room to enjoy them. The paths are narrow and packed with people. The high ticket price is due to the organisation of the local annual market. But I wasn't at all interested in what those local hillbillies were selling there. Not to mention those arrogant luddites who organised the car park! Never again!
