Probably one of the bigger and better preserved forts in the Netherlands. It was part of \De Hollandse Waterlinie\; defense works consisting of several forts in an area that could use a system in controlled flooding to halt enemy advances. I have seen a couple of forts now but I think it's safe to say that if you have seen one, you've seen 'em all. The fort consists of several small buildings and two main buildings. There's an exhibit in the first one as well as a nice restaurant. Entrance is free. Guided tours available. Free parking. No public transport. A visit will probably take you about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on whether you include the exhibit.

The fort is largely destroyed, but what is left is well maintained. Nice for a short walk and look around. A small bar also serves good quality bar food and a decent selection of drinks and beers.

Hello World

When there during corona time, missed the expedition and the rest of the site is kind of boring...
