Had 4 Endoscopies. Doctor wanted me to have a 5th. I told the Doctor that a specialist wanted a CT scan, so he requested one. 6 weeks later I phoned hospital as I still hadn’t received a date & it had Cancer on my notes. I was told that I had cancelled it. I explained that I had just lost my Sister to hereditary Cancer & I didn’t cancel it. I wanted a name for the person who’d cancelled it. 8 phone calls later I found out that it was my doctor. He obviously wanted it his way or the highway. Also I was struggling to get out of my chair with my crutches & “doctor” Suzanne Atherton shouted out for all to hear “ Oh do hurry up will you “. On another occasion, I was collecting my prescription. 2 people walked in behind me. That same doctor asked them if they were waiting for their prescription. They said yes & she said to them - and I quote - “ Sorry about HIM “. They have a captive audience being out in the sticks, so they know they can treat you how they want.

rang up to make an appointment for my wife, but advised that I couldn't as they are implementing a new computer system. However, a GP would ring her later to see if she needed an appointment..I tried to explain that she isn't contactable at work, hence I was making the request, ... but was told that wasn't possible. I tried to explain the relatively urgent nature of the need for an appointment, but was told she has to ring up, although there are no advance bookings available..and they might already be booked fully on that day. When I then asked what happens in that eventuality..I was told that she'd have to ring up the next day then!

My doctor is wonderful. Nurses are lovely. Sometimes a bit of a wait but that can't be helped. I never take for granted that I can see or speak to a doctor for free. Have also used the online consultancy recently and that was very good service too.
