The volunteers, made it well worth the trip to the furthest point south.

Heading out into the quiet corner of England this is the most southerly point of the country. The RNLI head out in all kinds of weather to help those who have gotten into difficulty. The Lizard lifeboat house is perched above a cove. The only way to get to it is to navigate down 153 steps. However once there you are greeted by friendly staff who will answer any questions you have about the boat or what they do. You are not allowed to look around the boat unless it's a special lifeboat day which means they can open it up. However for kids there is enough to do and also a little shop. Opening times are 1030 till 1600 however it is best to call ahead in case for any reason it's shut on the day. Well worth a little visit
What a privilege to watch the practice launch . Every one connected to the Lizard Lifeboat and RNLI deserves our thanks and praise .
Really helpful crew here happy to talk to you about the station and the boat... not to mention the incredible job of saving lives they do!
No facilities for the public but an interesting installation along with some memorials.
