Truth be told, had a wonderful lemon scone here at Liberty Tea Rooms. Quirky setting, with rather cramped seating inside, we had to sit outside. Unfortunately, the abundance of sunlight, and accompanying lack of parasol meant for quite an uncomfortable seating experience - to no fault of LTR. The menu was well-presented. Price was left up to the customer, with an honesty envelope and box. All the money went to charity, and it was worth the money we spent. Despite the congestion, we got everything we ordered, and enjoyed everything we got. Service was impeccable, with a lovely doorman, waitress and till operator. Great if you’re ever in Hemel Hempstead, pity if you’re not.

Relaxed atmosphere. A different way of operating, which was nicely explained to us when we sat down at our table. We don't often return to cafes that are more than 10 miles from our home, but we would do so with the Liberty Tea Rooms.

Lovely place to meet for a cuppa, lunch or afternoon tea, amazing volunteers who staff the tea room. customer service was outstanding. Book a tea party for you and your friends. Decor is amazing, everywhere you look a different ornament catches your eye. Well worth a visit

Love it. Such a good vibe. You can wait a while for your food sometimes but it's such a friendly, community place with great decor. Loads to look at. Quirky names, inventive use of old clocks, ply wood and an eclectic mix of china. Sweetcorn chowder delicious. Ham and cheese croissants great. (Chick pea, chilli & lime soup tasted like someone accidentally doubled the spice blend. Too much flavouring. So it stayed in your mouth all afternoon.) And, they do evening bookings! Really reasonable per head price!!! Looking forward to finding a reason for that...
