Nigel and his son Greg are brilliant, after my mechanic of 15 years retired I needed to find a new mechanic I used 2 before I found Nigel, I didn't get a good vibe from the other 2 as I do a lot of work myself on my cars and only use a mechanic when I think it's above my skill level or I need a ramp and as I know quite a bit about cars when the 1 upped his price for no reason after we agreed a fixed price that put me off him and the other charged me 40 for nothing as he couldn't get the bolts off. I then found Nigel I told him about the bolts that were seized on my mini and asked him for a fixed price which he gave me. The car went in Friday and I was away for a week but when I got back the car was on my drive with a note explaining that he tried to undo the bolts but failed he said he needed to drop the sub-frame but didn't have time to do it that week as he had already spent 2 hours on it. So I rang him up and asked when he could fit it in he said next week and I asked how much he wanted a he said 150 as agreed he said all in all he spent close to 6 hours on it as he had to do some welding on the sub-frame and only charged 150 which I thought was really good of him. Also had some work done on my Mondeo for a pre MOT once he told me what was needed to pass the MOT we agreed on a fixed price of 80 with a new MOT, there was a little welding on the exhaust and he removed both front tryes to clean up the rim as the rust was making them deflate after a couple of weeks. I would definitely recommend Nigel and Greg although they are usually quite busy so plan ahead if possible.
