Did not enjoy a particularly good experience whilst placing a deposit on a property I intended to buy. It appeared that the plot had previously been reserved but became available due to the potential buyer not being able to exchange within period. I was able to exchange within the 4 week period, however shortly after securing my deposit I received a call to say that the property was not available to me as in their view I could not exchange within the timescales. I disputed this and said that I had taken legal advice and provided evidence that I could.The property then became available to me again but only after I had refused their offer of a substitute plot which they offered at a discount price plus many extras, and also had a further 1 year delay on completion. When I suggested that the matter had been mishandled and suggested a form of compensation should be considered my contract was immediately terminated with the original purchaser being offered it again. I was told that the company didn't deal with people that made threats! Interestingly Mr David Stuart Lovell then invited me to call at the site office if I would like to reconsider purchasing another plot! A very odd conclusion to my telephone conversation given his previous comments . Not a company I would ever look to deal with again
