When near Kielder we always try to visit the birds of prey centre. A great day out. Two demonstrations in the afternoon, weather permitting. You can stroke little owls. You get the chance to hold a few birds on your arm. Staff is very helpful.

We were wondering at first when the birds get to fly ( no shows right now because of the restrictions, of course). Ray explained everything to us, how they fly them out of hours, where they go, how old every bird is, where he got them from, and even why they have wallabies! Really passionate about the work and the birds and willing to educate the visitors. They take the birds into schools as well, so kids have so much to learn! The kind of place that will struggle through these times, but absolutely should get the help needed. Wholeheartedly recommend you go visit and engage in discussion with the staff.

Ray is a lovely man, he's clearly passionate about all the birds. Go and visit if you can, the birds are incredible and well looked after. Unfortunately, he can't fly any of them at the moment due to covid restrictions but he'll happily sit down with you and answer any questions. Would highly recommend for all ages :)

Our nearly 2 year old loved it. No shows on at the minute due to covid restrictions but the staff offered great talks about the birds. Very informative.

Ray is a real gentleman and an expert in his field, we could listen to him talk about the birds for hours! A great experience, the birds are amazing creatures and are fascinating to watch. We'll be returning and hope to see a show there. Can't recommend enough.

This place is amazing the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The staff are very patient with children. My 3 year old is frightened of everything that moves and they were very patient with her and got her over her fear to the point she was holding the birds and wanting to go back everyday. She even took part in the show which I was surprised she did and she enjoyed it. Ray, kath Steve and all the staff are amazing. Will be back up again soon as my daughter is asking everyday to go back!!!

Small but interesting and informative enough for little ones. No shows but we had one to one with one of the staff members, got to meet an owl and opportunity to ask questions.

A fabulous place to spend an hour or two. Ray and the other staff is helpful and knowledgeable, eager to share their knowledge and passion for the beautiful birds they take care of. The flying display is highly recommended and Ray gives especially the kids an opportunity to participate and be a part of the whole experience. It's a real chance to get up close and personal with some magnificent bird. Do not miss it.
