It's well worth a visit, particularly since the temple has been tidied up .

Good place to visit. But was unlucky to visit in a bitter cold day with very strong wind.

This Fort sits approximately half way between Chesters Roman Fort and Housesteads Roman Fort on the Military Way. (Thats General Wades Road and nothing to do with the Romans ). It has a very good car park which is run by the Northumberland National Park Authority and costs 1.00 per hour or 5.00 all day. If you want to spend time exploring other parts of the Roman remains which donot have parking areas ( quite alot don't ) or as a base for hiking, I would take the all day ticket. The Fort was excavated back in the Day's of Yor by the Rev Clayton, the same gentleman who excavated Chesters Roman Fort and bought that site to preserve it. There is next to nothing to see regarding internal structures and only the outline of the Forts shape with the odd section of walls visible. There is No level pathway so access is not (in my opinion ) wheelchair accessible. Enterance is Free but there are No Toilets or catering facilities. The site is run by English Heritage and Dogs Must be kept on a leash. You actually enter a farmers field where he keeps his beasts. The name BROCOLITIA is said to be of Celtic origin meaning "Badger Holes ", not being fluent in the Celtic Language I cannot confirm this. Don't forget to check out the Temple of Mithras which is just 50 yards south of the Fort.
