Hexham is a lovely place to visit. Pleasant atmosphere, the cheese scone was lovely. Very solid furniture. Quick look at the paintings in the art gallery - pricey but nice. The library was housed in a splendiferous room. A lot of the charity shops are a class above in Hexham and the antique shops are great too. Well worth a trip out.
Popped in for a cuppa and found an excellent selection of reasonably priced food & drink. Well worth a visit and next time we might just try one of the very enticing looking cakes. Ideally situated for the centre of the town and right opposite the Abbey.
Some of the nicest coffee available in Hexham (which is saying something given the variety of great cafés available!). Lovely service and great savoury and sweet food. We've yet to try their famous cheese and bacon scones, as they are sold out every time we go, but I feel that can only be a good sign!
WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE IN A LOVELY VENUE - TOTALLY SUITABLE FOR ANYONE OVER 7 YEARS OF AGE - ON DURING THE SCHOOL HALF TERM SO A FIRST GO TO - IS BEING HELD IN OTHER VENUES - MAD ALICE IS A THEATRE COMPANY TO WATCH
