Pennine Way

Slept in here on the Pennine Way, was such a saviour in the cold and rain and brill not having to put the tent up. Great place to head to for a stop on a hike! Great views. Felt so close to the finish at this point

Fantastic walk up here great views across the the borders of Scotland.
First walk here but loved it and planning on doing it again soon
Beautiful spot... Cycle ride up was a bit boggy, but we made it... Didn't see anyone else all day! Perfect!
Yearning Saddle is the site of the famous bothy situated on the Pennine Way, by the Border Fence in the Cheviot Hills. It derives it's name from the neck of high ground that links Yearning Law with the Border Ridge, is conveniently situated on the 29 mile long stretch between Byrness and Kirk Yetholm, and is thus a most welcome retreat for the weary hiker, particularly if the weather is poor, as it was when I did the Pennine Way in May 1981. The five stars are not awarded for the degree of comfort!
3 times Pennine way, end to end trail and walking the border.
ideal place to batten down the hatches when weather turns for the worst
Spent the night here while walking the Pennine way. A welcome change from the tent.
