I had a great experience with Brain-works. I had the pleasure of working with Cynthia Honeycutt throughout the entirety of my high school career. I cannot begin to describe how much she helped me. Not only did she help me get into the college of my dreams, but she met with me one on one to help discuss the best college options for me. And helped me with my college essays. Also, I attended her SAT prep courses which increased my test taking skills significantly. Cynthia is a great person who is willing to do anything possible to help each student achieve their goals.

Cynthia Honeycutt was able to maximize my strengths and improve my weaknesses to best fit the SAT format while helping me work through the rigors of the lengthy test. I had a terrific experience with BrainWorks Learning Center in Hickory! During the initial consultation, BWLC provided me with great advice on the advantages to starting test prep during the summer going into junior year. Cynthia was supportive, encouraging and kept the sessions moving at a pace. She pinpointed my weakness and focused time where I needed the most help. There was not a wasted minute. We completed several sections of practice tests during the sessions and discussed different techniques to solve missed questions, which I found incredibly helpful. Cynthia also provided strategy tips on pacing and quickly finding answers that I used on the actual test. With the support and guidance from BWLC and Cynthia, I achieved well into the 1500s on the SAT and into the mid-30s on the ACT. I attribute a significant part of my acceptance at an Ivy League to the test prep and college counseling I received from Cynthia at BWLC. I totally recommend BrainWorks Learning Center to anyone looking for a personalized test prep experience and college counseling!
