Updated: We have now gotten a hold of the head of nursing and head of the facility. We have received several phone calls regarding our concerns. It looks as though things will be getting resolved. Because of their responses to my concerns I have increased my star rating and will continue to update my review as we go. Initial review: My Grandmother broke her foot and we didn't have the equipment to lift her so she could have her basic needs met. We were relieved when we were told that she qualified to have 14 days at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, MO. They assured us that the nurses and equipment they had available would allow the to lift her so she could have basic needs met (bathroom, physical rehab, clean clothes, bathing, medicine given to her as ordered by doctor). We had some problems that we are waiting to be rectified.

This is such a wonderful place to work. We do many fun activities that include both of our residents and employees. This picture is from our pie in the face day. Employees could donate to throw a pie in the face to raise money for our Resident Activities. Both residents and employees threw pies.

Meyer's Outpatient Therapy group are magicians. I can't thank them enough for their services. I know I would never done as well trying to get back to normal anywhere else.

When my mom moved in roughly two years ago, it was a big move. Located in Warrensburg for many years, her home was too big after my Dad passed on. Family spans from Arizona to NY so to leave her there \on her own\ after we helped her settle was a big step. It was a change but a really pleasant environment. Everyone, from management to residents ,were friendly and helpful. Now after two years, this is where home is - and if feels like it. We enjoy our visits there and laughter is abundant! This I felt when she first moved in and know it to be a fact now. The main reason I am leaving a comment now is the care and consideration given when she had to go to the Hospital Thanksgiving eve. All of us are far away - but the assurance and assistance - (from Kurt Lorenz - bringing her street clothes, coat, iPad, keys, etc to her in the hospital 25 miles away, responding to my multiple texts and phone calls, to ensuring she had a ride home from the hospital the next day) is priceless. I am thrilled she loves living there, I am thrilled to be a part of John Knox, and most important, I know she is safe, happy, INDEPENDENT and content with her home. Thank you John Knox Village East and special thanks to Kurt - and all the others who make it such a nice place.
