WE NEED HELP AND ADVICE!!! We've been in the process of buying a new build from Barratt Homes on Octavia Gardens in Chapel-en-le-frith since January. We've exchanged on the property but not completed. We were first told it would be ready in May as the one we'd decided on had a longer wait but a lovely big front and back garden with a side drive that would fit 3 cars on it which we paid an extra 8,000 for. We are now meant to be completing in September which we are clearly not too happy about but we've just got on with it and not pestered them as we didn't want them to rush and get anything wrong. A few weeks away now and so we go up all the time to see where it's up to because we're so excited. We noticed on Monday how narrow the driveway is so mentioned it to the Sales Advisor who then arranged to bring our cars up on Wednesday to see if they even fit on our lovely new driveway. WE CANT GET THE CARS ONTO THE DRIVEWAY... THEY DONT FIT!!!!! I have a polo which is a small car in my eyes so it's a joke that it doesn't fit on. We've measured the driveway and it's 2.36 metres that's not taking into consideration the big drainpipe in the way also. They are saying they can't correct it as next doors driveway is elevated so we've got walls each side. We don't want to complete on the house now? Who else has had problems? How do we resolve this? Help us....
