Spoke to this guy today after speaking to about 10 other ECU repair technicians who all gave me more honest quotes and advice. I was looking for a technician who can clone my water damaged immobilizer ECU box over to a new one I have with matching part number . This guy's attitude was not very nice over the phone told me he can do it for 140 and did not want to tell me anything else apart from hes 100% success rate. I wanted to know what he's procedure would entail exactly for this clone procedure as i have some technical knowledge on the subject and wanted to take some honest advice maybe. He basically said there are about 3 chips that will need changing over not just the 8pin eprom. I had previously spoke to Porsche specialist beforehand who already told me if the part numbers match only the 1 eprom chip memory needs swapping cloning over to donor box. I found another technician after speaking to this guy and he has actually copied my original eprom memory over to the new box cloning it for 45 fixing the car completely. This guy quoted 140 and lied to me in the process over exaggerating what needed to be done trying to send me down the wrong path which I did not appreciate. If I was you reading this id find somebody else to do your ECU repair unless you want to get lied to and overpriced quote for a simple procedure that takes about an hour at most. Definitely not impressed.
