Hikawa Shrine visit really begins from the bus stop on the main road in front of the 7-Eleven. Cross the street and you have a beautiful 900 meter tree-lined pedestrian walk that takes you to the main entrance of Hikawa Shrine. Along the sides of the broad walk you can find the occasional coffee shop or drinks shop if you'd like a break. The Shrine itself is tranquil with natural beauty all around you...it's hard to believe you're in Central Omiya! The architecture of the Shinto Shrine buildings is beautiful and worth several shots if you are a photographer. Overall this is a wonderful experience and a great opportunity to \get peaceful\ in today's busy world!

This is one of several shrines around Saitama, with the same name. When we went here, many families were doing the 7-5-3 ceremony with their children. Admittance is always free, but please be respectful of the shrine and others visiting.
Not that far from station. You can spend some time in the park after the shrine.
It is opened for 24 hours for the Hatsumode. This is located near the Omiya Koen park.
A wonderful shrine in Saitama, easily accessible from the Keihin Tohoku line. It’s like being in a mini Kyoto in the middle of Saitama. A very popular place with families on weekends as it has ponds and a park. There was also a goshuincho and goshuin exhibition being held.
