We had 3 fantastic days with Ambrose (HikeandClimb) in Donegal (Ireland)! We climbed the sea cliffs and explored inaccessible stunning beaches. We could only get there abseiling from the sea cliffs. Ambrose gave us not only thrilling experience but also excellent tips on safe climbing. We highly recommend climbing with Ambrose (HikeandClimb). You will absolutely be safe and have lots of fun. Forgot to mention, that Ambrose is a skilled photographer so you will have great photos too! Thank you so much Ambrose!

We did the outdoor rock climbing course yesterday in Dalkey Quarry. It was an unreal experience. I love indoor climbing but certainly did not trust myself to set up ropes to actually use. Ambrose was so thorough and knowledgeable, and didn't just go through the what, but also the why and when. He was really patient and made it all so easy too. Myself and my climbing partner were setting up our own routes and climbing them confidently within a couple of hours. Ambrose was a fantastic instructor, friendly, calm, put us right at ease and made the day about what we wanted from it. We're definitely going to be continuing with outdoor climbing! Highly recommend this course!!

Took the Rock Skills Intro course as it was my first time climbing outdoors and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Ambrose was thorough in his preparation of all climbs and abseils he set for the group on the day and expertly balanced the theory aspect of the class with what we all wanted to do which was climb obviously! He got us on routes that fit our climbing ability and experience perfectly and it made for an exceptionally fun day. I fully intend on doing further courses with Ambrose and if outdoor climbing is something you want to try I couldn't recommend him highly enough!!

We spent the day in Dalkey quarry learning about trad anchors so we could make our club a more safe environment when it comes to outdoor climbing. I came into the day with high expectations and was completely blown away. There was a laid back, friendly atmosphere that made learning really fun. We were also pressed to voice our questions and concerns along every step of the way, which was very helpful. I would highly recommend Hike and Climb.

Had a great family day rock climbing with Ambrose! This was our first time rock climbing and we found him very informative and relaxed, yet very conscious of safety. We were a family of 6, all different ages and abilities and he ensured everyone had a great time. He is highly experienced and I would recommend him for anyone interested in rock climbing.

Had a great day out with with Hike and Climb, where Ambrose taught not only the 'how', but also the 'why'. How to weigh up the alternative options and choose in a host of scenarios, why you might pick one over another, but also variations that could also work in a pinch, and with or without certain gear available. The day felt incredibly relaxed but super safe at all times, which in itself is to be commended. All in all I couldn't rate highly enough.

I had a fantastic day out with Ambrose from Hike and Climb last weekend. I wanted to learn the fundamentals of outdoor climbing as I was coming from a predominantly indoor climbing background. Ambrose was patient, thorough and a fantastic teacher. By the end of the session, I was confidently setting up anchors and climbing. I 100% recommend this course to anyone who wishes to improve their rock skills and have a great day out!

Hello I went to Dalkey Quarry for the Rock Skills 1 course. It was a very enjoyable day out. We got to do a number of different climbs and an abseil. There was a demonstration on how: • The ropes were setup • The different types of rope • The different knots used and why these knots were used • How to belay for the other climbers • Belaying yourself when abseiling I would recommend this for anyone. All equipment was provided (hat, harness, shoes, ropes...) Tom
