It was a great fun to visit here. The staff told us and showed us how Japanese Sake was made from the beginnings.
Tho it’s not so big. But the orientation shows us the whole process. Great experience and oishii sake! Deserve a visit!
Matsuoka is a tourist brewery, so you can enjoy a brewery tour any time of the year so long as you have booked in advance. I took the tour in Japanese with work, but there are English speaking guides available if you request in advance. It was really interesting to visit the sake brewery and hear about the processes of sake production. Our very amicable guide also shared some local history too, which I really appreciated. All the staff were very friendly and kind. There is a new restaurant on the grounds with a view of a Japanese garden. The shop on the grounds is decorated beautifully.
A historic brewery with nice shop, staff, and selection of nihonshu. It didn't seem like they did tastings, so I didn't ask, just bought a shinshu newly pressed sake I was pretty sure I would like -- and did! Only other thing is it is a bit far from the nearest station, so a car makes it easier to visit here and other places nearby.
