Established in 1949, The Hiking Club is one of the oldest adventure clubs in India, second only to The Himalayan Club, Mumbai. It lives by the motto of choose to dare and wishes to instill in all its members the spirit of adventure to thrive for adrenaline. The club has seen the likes of multiple adventure athletes that have gone on to pursue outdoor climbing and other related sports professionaly as well. It has had people like Rohan Kanhai Dutta who was amongst the people to formally introduce climbing in India and Prerna Dangi, a reputed climber across the world and an enthusiast of the sport. Ajeet Bajaj went on to conquer the Mount Everest with his daughter and Mandip Singh Soin, who ascended peaks in all seven continents. In 2003, Mohit Oberoi, a pioneer in the field offered to build a sport climbing wall on campus in memory of Eshwaram Bharatam. Ever since then the Club has been able to introduce climbing to not just its members but almost every student in college.
