So disappointed. I was brought up to believe that rules are there to be abided by. No I’m wrong ...when it comes to the Council. They have all these documents saying you can’t do this & you can’t do that but when it comes down to it they can’t be bothered to enforce them & protect our community & environment.

Depends who you speak to, I was unfortunate enough to deal with a lady called Sally on the back office for a council tax issue, round in circles, over defensive, and advised nothing could be done and when I challenged her response, she said I was an unreasonable guy. Not the most proffessional of responses from a representative of HBBC. The term \ jobsworth\ springs to mind but honestly I don't think she was even covering that. Follow up call to another lady called Claire, who could not have been more helpful, issue sorted within minutes and even an apology. I cannot comment as to why Sally couldn't resolve the issue but she certainly made it more difficult to deal with and contradicted herself numerous times from her high horse. Totally unesessary really considering her team leader sorted it within minutes. On a positive note, Claire in my mind is providing customer service to a level the council should be proud of Lower rating given due to my first experience as outlined above.
