Keep away. Horrendous attitude from both management and office staff. Pitiful training for care workers, mostly arriving with no intention of working, just sit with their phones updating their social media. No care plan. No essential equipment training. Poor timekeeping. Calls not covered with suitable staff. Unsafe.

I am a private carer and when Covid arrived I started to work for Purple Care part time at the end of March 2020. I enjoy working for Purple Care and I feel fully supported by the office team and have confidence in the management. I have worked on my own supporting clients and as part of a double up team and all the support staff I have met have the same compassion and caring attitude that anyone could hope for when caring for a family member. I pretty much visit the same clients every working day so that there is consistency. Obviously the nature of the job unexpected things can happen and the office team are their to support us changing our Rota to allow for the unexpected and issues we face on a daily basis. All the customers I have met through the company have in the main been pleased with the service they receive and even today a customer said they have never been let down. I feel we do strive to deliver 100% service but as any service Provider you cannot please everybody. This business is demanding not only physically and emotionally and I feel a few reviews on here have been particularly unfair. If you are thinking of working in care please ring and have a chat with the manager like I did you will see that she is a caring and passionate about this job I have worked in the care sector for over 12 years long enough to see that. As for pay we are given an online payslip that clearly lays out what contributions we are making tax and NI wise.

I would recommend purple care because the carers take care of you and they are polite. They have a polite manner and have a smooth running operation of doing things to the correct standards. They are fully trained and have loads of experience.

I would not recommend Purple Care. While the carers are compassionate, mostly they are unprofessional. One time they arrived for the morning call at 11.40 with no phone call to me to say they would be late. I am of the opinion that staff need more training in the use of slide sheets to move a patient. One carer on arrival, plonked herself down in the armchair. Another failed to set up the night bag correctly. I was originally scheduled for 4 calls per day, I cut these down first to 3 calls, then to only 2 calls because they did very little. Finally I reduced the calls to mornings only. Today when a district nurse was visiting my end of life husband, I cancelled the Purple Care contract when the team arrived at 10.40. However, on advising Social Services if the cancellation, I was told that Purple Care had not notified Social Services of the reduced number of call. It gave me the impression that they were possibly still collecting payment for 4 calls per day?

AVOID AVOID AVOID! I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Do not work with this 'company' You will not get paid properly and the owner is crazy and a liar. Training was a joke and was not suitable and will be deducted out of your wages without previously being told this. My final pay was withheld completely with no explanation and now I have found out that they never paid tax even tho I was PAYE so now I have a huge hmrc bill. Thanks Tracy for making my life miserable and cost me more in the long run. I have reported you for unsafe practice and knowingly putting peoples lives at risk with your lack of care. You do not care about your staff and shockingly care even less for the the people we care for. NOT PROFESSIONAL AND NOT FIT FOR SUPPORT WORK
