Absolutely brilliant instructor! He will take you from zero to hero. I actually cannot recommend him highly enough, to the point I wouldn't recommend any one else. I've no need to and that's my point.
Couldn't ask for a more knowledgeable instructor. Every question I asked I was given an answer (yes, I was sad enough to come away and check some of them against the highway code; he was correct with his answers!). If you are looking for someone who wants to teach you more than just 'how to pass the test' look no further. I went from never towing a trailer to feeling confident in reversing a trailer in just a few hours with a few simple 'tricks' and little nuggets of knowledge, all passed across in a very simple to understand manner. Ian has many years of experience teaching these courses; it is clear that he knows what he is talking about whilst you are sat next to him! (This review would be the same even if I hadn't passed!) An exceptional instructor. I took a BE course with another instructor as well as a retest with a large commercial trailer training company. Neither taught me how to properly reverse the trailer. It was only when I came to Ian that I learnt to correctly control the trailer and then went on to pass the test (my third attempt but my first test after his instruction). He has a reversing area minutes from his house which is under cover and its a short drive to the test centre which was ideal (no wasting an hour getting there as I had with the other companies). His experience in teaching courses such as for articulated lorry drivers also really shows as he was able to advise me on maintaining distance to improve reaction time and heavy vehicle handling. I found him to be very professional, patient and knowledgable. Highly recommended and I'd even go as far as to say he's the best in Hampshire in light of my experience!
Have used this company twice now, done my trailer training and my 7.5 tone. Value for money is amazing, very friendly but to the point. Highly recommended!
