A lovely pub with plasant staff. Bought drinks and sat outside. It was a sunny autumnal day. Most people preferred the outside space. All tables were 2 metre apart and it was good to see everyone obeying the 2m rule. Ordered Beer battered fish served with pub chips, tartare sauce and crushed peas. It was very tasty. However, the homemade shawarma, marinated Lamb, meditatenean salad and a tzatziki dip with fries was a disappointment. It looked and tasted very dry with little or no sauce. We told the waitress, she apologised and didn't have much to say. In as much that the meal was bellow par, I will visit the pug again but will ensure to avoid the home made shawarma.

Found this place whilst on a ramble near Hitchin. Due to social distancing, we could not go inside, so I can't comment in the pub's interior ambiance. However, there were appropriately distanced tables set up in the car park and waiting staff on hand to take orders. I had a pint and a plate of fish and chips. The batter in the fish was light and crispy, the chips were skin-on and cooked well, the pint (Green King IPA see photo) was highly enjoyable. I'd visit again if I were in the area.
Very disappointing. Nachos for starter were cold and had very little cheese. Burger starter was cold when arrived so I asked for to be warmed. Dessert of strawberry fool came in a small glass with two shop bought chunky shortbread biscuits the type you have at home stuck in the glass. There was no chardonnay wine available. On the whole it was a very underwhelming experience for the price.
Lovely roast dinner, good prices and a nice atmosphere
Fantastic pub, complying to all social distancing policies. Amazing pints and delicious food.
