Not local for me but we regularly visit locally and go to the sun as it offers easy parking a good venue to relax and enjoy tasty food and drinks. The menu is good sized and fairly priced and the food is tasty and nicely presented. They have an area you can hire which is regularly used for gatherings for special occasions which we have used in the past to good effect. The layout is nice with various sections and plenty of seating. When warm enough you can sit outside. Staff always nice. Well worth a visit.

I've given this place a few chances as a friend likes the interior but I'm afraid this was my last time. Each time the food has been incredibly poor and bland and I'm a firm believer that there's no point dinning out if I can cook better at home. If you're going for drinks it's fine as it's a nice pub inside but don't expect much at all if you're dining. The only meal that was OK once was a Sunday roast but other than that it's been poor each time. No flavour, no effort on presentation.
Nice pub. Very clean and well decorated. Easy to find and easy parking. Food is good in quality and huge portions (see toad in the hole or rotisserie chicken)! Much better standards than your average pub grub and you won't leave hungry. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Nothing not to like. Recommended. Ps: you have to try the buffalo chicken wings - Awesome.
we were planning to go to the Wetherspoons but decided to try the sun instead. so pleased we did our food was excellent! lovely decor, staff were really nice and friendly accept the man I think he was the manager he seems grumpy. our waitress was very good. over all good experience will definitely come back.
Very quiet perfect for us. Booked a table for 12 noon but found wen we got their it opened at 12 so we was stuck outside, no signage to say know one told us when we booked. They finally opened about 12:07 without any apology when we mentioned it.
Nice, different food for a McMullens pub. Starters of Calamari and Buttermilk chicken goujons were nice. Sharing main course of rotisserie chicken, chips and coleslaw. Chicken a little disappointing. It was cooked well, but was supposed to have been finished on the grill, little or no evidence of this. Skin on fries were nothing special. Corn on the cob tasted as if it was pre cooked and vac packed, then finished off on the griddle. The desert menu looks great, but we were full, sweaty and pushing it for time so had to pass. I could eat here again, but I wouldn't choose it.
