The overall school is great, although there are some issues. First, the pipes have been breaking recently. Second, the hallways are much too small. Lastly, the auditorium (stage in the gym) is not too great. Since the school had so much money left over after the build, one would think that they would have added a better auditorium or at least some comfortable chairs.

In the new school the technology is better but honestly, the layout is bad, crowded hallways, between periods and at the end of the day, are the result of small hallways and lockers are on either side. The academics are great and Mountview was voted #1 in Massachusetts. I think they rushed to build the school because there were three pipes that burst last month, the girls locker room (where one pipe burst) still has water stains on the ground, benches, and lockers... they didn't even bother to clean it, all they did was let it dry. Sometimes the locker room still smells. Last year when we moved into the new school, they were still testing things out and some walls weren't painted. About the time around Thanksgiving, they had turkey and gravy for lunch. At Dawson Elementary School, (granted, it has been a few years) the turkey and gravy... actually all of the school lunch... isn't bad. When I had the turkey at Mountview, it was clearly a mash up of white and dark meat. Not only that but, the dark meat was hard and when I cut it, it looked raw. The white meat was the only part I ate so for lunch I had two bites of turkey, with some mashed potatoes (I choose not to think about what the turkey or mashed potatoes really were). Luckily, that was one of the days that I forgot that I was buying lunch, so I had brought my lunchbox that had some snacks in it. The lockers are a pretty good size. I really like my teachers and liked my teachers last year. I did (and do) have teachers that I absolutely cannot stand (anybody that goes to Mountview will probably know who those teachers are), but, like I said, I like my teachers, academics, and Mountview was voted best in Massachusetts.
I am currently finishing my last year here at Mountview, and don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this school and the teachers, it just seems like they rushed us into the new building. The new building is great, it's just that the hallways and lockers are way too small. The classrooms are a perfect size to fit everyone, and the dehumidifiers work amazing! Last year in the old school, I would sit in the classrooms sweating because of how hot it was, but now, we don't have to worry about that. I don't know if you could do something about this, but the hallways on the 8th grade floor are way too crammed, so maybe we could put some lockers in the pods to make a little more space? Anyways I definitely recommend this school, because the staff are exceptional (outstanding), and I really think children coming into this school will enjoy it! :)
i am currently in sixth grade and the water sucks the halls are so small academics re awesome though and nice staff.
Mountview is not as bad as people say it is. Like anything else, it has its downfalls but it is a great school and has great academics.
The new school is great. It is very clean, new and modern. The teachers are very nice and the academics are great.
The hallways are way to cramped and you can barely fit your backpack in your locker but overall the academics are good and the teachers are nice and the new gym is a lot better than the gym at the old Mountview. However recently the pipes burst during lunch and we had to evacuate the building.
Lit school, people who complain about layout and smell will never make it in Wachusett be grateful for the technology there and Mr. Smith those are the two best things that Wachusett does not include. P.S. anybody who wants to use this work will have to cite it. -Paul Keane
