Lovely look back in history. Very friendly cast members helping you have a great experience. Children and adults encouraged to ask questions about the demonstrations such as weaving. Basket making, blacksmith. Lots of animals to see. Many buildings to visit showing life as it was years ago.

So many walk paths, a lot of interesting buildings. Very nice staff. 4 stars couse not everything could be seen (covid19).
Stepping back in time requires a time machine or a breathtaking folk park just like this one! Located beautifully near the shores of Belfast Lough, you can experience decades and centuries of culture that developed throughout the years. Whilst having a look at the different buildings and former housing facilities you can also take a glimpse at how people used to work. Bring your kids! Animals such as donkeys, two lovely horses, pigs, cows and goats can be found here along with a fair number of chickens. If you come here please make sure to spend at least four hours to fully experience the wide variety of life's essentials as they were hundreds of years ago. If you're visiting during Covid-times please note that many buildings can't be looked at and only a small amount of people can enter shops. Furthermore you can't really walk around as you like anymore. A strict route was established by the staff, which should be taken or else you will get told off. Anyway my day here was great I will always want to return and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the history and culture of this great country.
This place is an absolutely amazing insight into times gone by. Great way to look back into the history and of Irish culture and how things were back in the day!! Museum is really well put together and comes reasonably priced with a great wee map to help you see it all. Also need to mention the staff who help reenact the past with their great costumes and vast knowledge.....great day out thanks to all!!!! Only downside and reason for a four star rating and not a five is I was with someone in a wheelchair and found parts of the museum unapproachable for them! This isn't due to the buildings it's more the difficult descents getting to some of them.
Beautiful place to visit and walk around.. There's also a free transport ride around some of the area which lasts upto 10minutes..ice cream cone was value for money at 2.. However 4 for a sausage roll was pretty shocking today the least.. 1 for a Mars bar or snickers.. If going to the folk museum best to prepare and take food with you.. This way you will save money.. You can easily spend the day there walking around the place..
amazing place. full of history. staff are in character. staff are friendly and willing to share their history and knowledge. i was lucky enough to try out the blacksmithing area. got to use the belows and hit some hot steel. seen printing process, weaving and the doctor needs a special mention. never broke character in the 15 -20 minute interaction. brilliant day
It was a long time since we have been here and have to say it was fantastic. This place is a great day out and I would recommend getting here at opening time as we ran out of time and did not get to see it all. The staff onsite are extremely friendly and interact with the kids to make the visit more enjoyable. We also had a light lunch in the restaurant and was also very pleased with it.
Visited the folk museum today with my boyfriend Nathan. All staff were so friendly but really have to give a massive shout out to Victor, gave us a wonderful tour and really made our experience so memorable. He went above and beyond to make our time there very enjoyable and would 100% recommend going here even during these difficult times. The staff have worked so hard to keep everyone safe, comfortable and to most importantly feel welcome. Really great day, thank you.
