Very good WWII MUSEUM, housed in a old Nissan hut, concentrating on the build up to Operation Overlord with American Ist Airborne troops flying out from the airstrip to Normandy in June 1944 Very knowledgeable guides on hand to bring history alive, well worth tying it in with a visit to the Heritage Museum at Dunkeswell

Really, really great! All the staff are so friendly and so keen to help with any questions one might ask. They all seem to know everything about the wartime airfield and its associations. I met the overall Boss today and, amongst the many other questions I had, he was very knowledgeable and able to answer a longstanding question about the design of bomb stores - and one particular bomb stores set-up at fine old RAF Castle Archdale. Thank you very much indeed and I hope, one day, to do the personal tour around RAF Upottery.

We’ve visited the hut on a few occasions now, mainly at night I have to say but twice as visitors to the museum. It’s such a rarity to find such an amazing place with very dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers! So much information and memorabilia to look at and you can really get the feel and imagine what life would have been like back in WW2 for 101st airborne. Keep up the fantastic work!!
