We had a really good time. The riding itself actually lasts less than 2 hours, not the mentioned 2.5 hours, but for beginner riders that's better anyway because your legs get very sore from that kind of a ride. The extra time is for a quick lesson on how to tell the horse what to do, and get ready to go. When you reach the meetup point, you'll be taken on a very cool drive down in the valley on an extremely steep road with the most gorgeous view. The bits of trivia they give you while riding is very interesting. We got to see some wild horses from up close too!

SUCH A GREAT TIME! The views from the valley were unbelievable. It was an incredibly fun activity for the whole family, which included novice and seasoned riders. The only thing I'll warn you about is the van ride down- now that is not for the faint for heart- but once you're down there it is SO SO WORTH IT!! Cannot recommend enough!!

Staff was very nice and friendly. Probably the best trained horses we ever had. Definetely recommended for parents with kids or people who haven't sat on a horse for a while. Also newbies will definetely enjoy the valley way more from a horseback rather than from a tourbus. Unfortunately the horse ride itself didn't last the promised 2,5 hours. In total it wasn't even two hours on the horse. Also we missed to trot or canter - it was just walking speed the whole way. But still this is probably the best way to experience the beautiful Waipi'o Valley!

Jamie and Grace did an exceptional ride and the scenery and history is very engaging. Both guides were knowledgeable and open with information. The van ride to the bottom of the valley can be a bit harrowing (only county road in HI that pedestrians do NOT have the right of way). Well worth the -90/ adult rider.

My husband and I had a wonderful time with guides Pete and Grace of Naapala Stables. It was so nice to leave our vehicles at their business office and ride by van with an experienced local down into the Valley. Once there the ride was enjoyable and relaxing. The local guides are knowledgeable and full of stories about the current and historical happenings of the Valley. Even though the tour does not go to the beach, there is a lot of amazing scenery back into the Valley. Great adventure for the price!

This was one of the best experiences my husband and i had on the island. The guides are very knowledgable and friendly. The view is to die for and you have a great view of Hiilawe falls and other falls. The horses also very friendly and easy to ride.

Thank You Grace for a wonderful tour!!! My wife and I loved it. Had a very safe and fun experience and much more in the tour than I expected. I didn't think we would be taught so much about the land and plants/trees. It was a great experience, reasonably priced, and I would highly recommend it to everyone. The horses look well cared for and happy.

The valley is pretty, and the guides are very nice, but it wasn't what I was expecting. This takes you mainly on walking trails in the valley and you walk single file the entire time, so there's not much you do with the horses (other than preventing them from eating along the way). While this is great if you're a beginner and that's what you're expecting, I began to find it tedious. For me, this was in large part because I assumed we'd be able to have a bit more control over the horses, rather than walking single file the whole time, and I ended up in the middle of the line (out of 10 riders) with a non-English speaking group, and I couldn't hear either guide. The guide in front gave the tour in English even though I was the only one who could understand but couldn't hear anything. Since we weren't able to get out of the line, I basically sat on the horse for an hour and a half pretty disengaged until near the end. In the last 10 minutes, we broke the line so I was able to ask questions and engage, which was nice, but overall it wasn't what I was expecting. It's a fine tour if you're a beginner rider and want to go on walking trails via horseback, but make sure to be close enough to hear the guide.
