Good place for having local products and support local farmers.

I am leaving this review to support the cafe. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food served is fresh, plentiful and delicious. If more milk is needed for tea or extra butter for your scone, you just ask and it is handed over with a smile. I cannot comment on the steak, but have bought other products and they have always been very good.

Not good. Rebranded to new name and stopped taking taste card with exactly the same menu so effectively doubled there prices overnight. A near 20 minute wait to get served and cold toast with the "hand made breakfast,"

Husband & I both ordered the all day breakfast. When they arrived his was missing the beans and mine was missing the grilled tomato. How difficult can it be to produce two identical meals? No butter for the toast, ran out of black pudding, table was dirty & the cappuccinos were very small for the price. Only saving grace was the polite but very busy waiter.

Went to the Food Festival with a friend on Saturday 16th August and to my surprise found myself sampling the delicious results of the cookery demonstration. The potted crab and the cucumber salad were delicious, and all the more so because they were all locally sourced ingredients. The demonstration was clear and made it all look deceptively simple. The lamb was tasty and tender and the salad fresh and made a wonderful accompaniment. I purchased some of the ingredients including the smoked rapeseed oil and some Fine Yorkshire Fettle and some other local goodies and have tried to reproduce the salad and the dressing today. I will be back as a customer, and extend my heartfelt thanks to all involved.

Paid 24 for ribeye steak to celebrate a special occasion. It was very tough and had no taste It ended up 2 hours later as a stew. I complained and quite happily excepted that this can happen from time to time so accepted rump steak for 10 as assured it was a very nice cut. All went in bin..could not get a steak knife through it. I'm sorry to say we won't be going back

I have been cooking Christmas hams for the past 45 years and can honestly say, the one we bought at Hornsea Freeport from Williams Farm was undeniably the best ever. This report comes from Nichola Ashby's mother who does the cooking around here. I would urge anyone who can to go and buy the pork products - can't be beaten. Cheers everyone. By the way - we now live in the West Riding but will continue to buy our meat from you.

Ok, but food quite expensive. Staff very friendly. Only place at present to get food and drink. Another restaurant ooening soon across the way.
