The hotel Madera surpassed our expectations. The service was warm and generous. The room was exactly what the photo showed, clean, spacious, comfortable and very convenient. Everything is within walking distance. I would have given the hotel five stars if I had a foam mattress and if the restaurant wasn’t closed for breakfast due to the Covid pandemic. Strongly recommend trying this hotel out the next time you are heading to Washington. The Service was five star.

My experience was amazing. Front desk staff were so friendly, made sure my needs were met immediately and made sure they informed us of all amenities at the hotel. The rooms are so big and spacious which i loved. Everything in the rooms are modern and everything was neat and clean. Id definitely stay again.

Wow where do I start! My husband and I have been coming here for over a year! The renovations are absolutely amaZing! Booking was quick and easy, the front desk were a great help!!!! Our room made us feel like we were somewhere tropical! The bathroom was huge and the shower was amazing! The room itself was huge, balcony great view. Friendly staff, hotel Madera will always be my go to! Highly recommend

Staff was very welcoming! They answered all questions I had politely and with patience. The room met our needs perfectly. Might benefit in having information about what floors the ice machine is on in the room but I was able to find my way from signs in the hallways. Cool views and enjoyed the modern design of the room. We ordered the breakfast the night before and the food tasted and looked amazing!

Checked in on 2-21 on the afternoon shift and the sweetest girl that works there I wish I could remember her name because she deserves a raise for her personality and customer service support alone I will refer others and will gladly come back for just for her making my stay so welcome and less stressed as a traveler I can truly appreciate it and it truly amazed me that this tiny sweet girl worked a weekend day and was so friendly and yet after midnight when another staff member came on I was less than impressed with her attitude and couldn't fathom why it took two people at night to work the front desk when the doors are lock at night. Also would come back for the clean and welcoming open rooms and the water pressure hands down!!!!!!

Great Rooms, great food at Firefly's. The front desk personnel could be warmer. Will be returning. Two minor complaints, the bathroom was very small as in you have to close the door to sit down. No gym in hotel, free offerings nearby not the same.. Otherwise, the Madera offers everything in a boutique hotel. Nice sized rooms, beautiful and interesting decor.

Kimpton is my favorite hotel group and I have stayed at multiple locations in DC alone. Of all the locations, Madera has the best accessibility to the Metro. Also it's in a very quiet location. But it is with these two positives, it starts to go downhill a bit. First, this problem is caused by the building and it is that there is really not a lobby. You walk in the door and there is a couch and a coffee/ water counter on either side and then the single podium where there is one lone stag member to help you. During the day, there is usually a door man, but not always. Then the rooms are really awkward and choppy as I'm sure that this building was converted into a hotel. The bathroom with the toilet and tub are tiny and you can barely get in, close the door and sit on the toilet. There is not a dedicated business center that has a computer and printer. Likely valet parking, but not sure. The restaurant that is located in ther hotel is also subpar (see review on Firefly). The only reason I'm likely to stay here again is the location and the fact that it is quiet especially when compared to the next closest Kimpton which is the Palomar which is exceedingly busy.
