Pro; The area. The view at dusk and dawn was really nice. Pool was clean. Cons; Our bed was underneath a "velux" window and it was rather warm so we left the window open when we went exploring the area. We were unfortunate to have a massuve storm while out. Pretty much the whole room was wet (it's a small room). During the storm I contacted the hotel to go check. They placed towels all over the floor. Didn't help, pillows and sheets were wet and they felt bothered to replace them... another room wasn't an option cause everything else was booked. Long story short. We had be creative and they only washed our pillows (which were old and yellow) after I insisted a bit. Also we had to deal with massive wasps in our room, I'm quite sure there's a nest. Bathroom is tiny and the shower door was broken. Bathroom door latch kept falling off No drinks, fridge, boiler, wifi available in room. I can legitimately say that this room is one of the worst I've been in. Ironically it's also the second time I've been in this hotel. First time was great and with an awesome room. Dont know what happened in between.
We arrived in the area in the afternoon and five of us looking for food came to Les Clinq Ourthes. The food was very nice, service was good and staff friendly, just be careful of the grumpy old dog that hangs around ha.
The hotel was nice and clean in a beautiful place unfortunetly the hotel owner is an unfriendly man....when we asked the owner for a remote control for the tv cos we didn't have one in our room his reply (in an angry voice) was "NO... cos they just get stolen....and we didn't come to watch tv!" He did eventually put one in our room but the whole experience was offputting. We also booked dinner but when we went to order the menu was trout or....... nothing.......or pay again for something else which we ended up doing....i will never return here as long as this man is owner....very dissspointing
Zeer goed meegevallen, zeer vriendelijk onthaal en sympathiek koppel die ervoor zorgen dat je niets te kort komt. COVID was slechts een kleine hindernis wat ontbijt en avondeten betreft, dewelke trouwens van zeer goede kwaliteit waren. Een ideale uitvalsbasis voor uren wandelplezier, voor het mountainbiken vertrek je iets verder op de afgepijlde parkoers.
De l’eau à 2,50 Payer pour de l’eau en bouteille, je trouve ça normal. Payer pour de l’eau du robinet, dans un verre fin, presque pas rafraîchissante, non merci. Cet endroit est un attrape randonneur, ne vous faites pas avoir. On ne pouvait payer qu’en cash, et la proprio nous dit qu’elle n’a pas de monnaie, alors que tout le monde est obligé de payer en cash.... Est ce un moyen pour extorquer de l’argent ? Bref n’y aller pas, passez votre chemin, ça ne peut vous faire que du bien...
Nous sommes restés 4 nuits à l'hôtel Les 5 Ourthes. Que dire ? Patrons accueillants et aux petits soins pour leurs clients. Repas copieux et très bon. Produits frais. Idem pour le petit-déjeuner. Belle chambre confortable et spacieuse. Il y fait calme. Situation idéale pour les amateurs de randonnée (c'était notre cas). Le rocher du Hérou se trouve à 100m. Barrage de Nisramont à proximité également. A mi-chemin entre Houffalize et La Roche-en-Ardenne. Rapport qualité-prix très bon. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter !
