I moved here about a year ago with my loaner and my other half. Originally we thought the yard was fantastic. Since moving we have been treated very poorly. The owners of the yard do not communicate with each other so when a conversation is had with one of them, the other will dispute it days later, ending in argument. The owners are unable to reason with so disagreement ends with the owners shouting at you and putting their hands in your face (during covid) when it could have been settled with a calm single conversation. Rules that apply for one do not apply for others. Where some are allowed to bank transfer for things like shavings, the idea of others doing the same begins shouting arguments and ending in threats of them throwing us off the yard. Picture for proof of business with them as when my other half and loaner posted reviews they were replied with 'you haven't done business with us' even though they have been known to them for over a year. Edit- I have since emailed to get feedback of my review as asked in their reply, and they have failed to reply
We moved our horse onto this yard just under a year ago. Originally it seemed good and friendly however the owners tone changed this year. The owners seem to have a believe they can tell you how you can look after your horse, don’t allow a community spirit of helping each other out with their horses and want to pretend they are running a morale, solid and legit business with their terms & conditions including the word please spelt ‘pls’. During lockdown we were told we could not ride our own horses (on or off the farm) despite BHS stipulating that riding of your own horse was allowed. This caused horses to become frustrated in their stables and becoming potentially dangerous for owners of the horses. The yard owners have become sour, unnecessarily aggressive and petty shouting at their customers because of their inconsistencies as the two yard owners do not communicate with each other. One of the yard owners even made the comment that a 30 year old woman didn’t constitute an adult when making up a rule with for one under 18 client after a dispute. This all caused us unnecessary stress and distress. Avoid this place. We have since moved off!
If you care about your horse, stay well clear of this cow yard! The facilities are the worst I have ever seen and the owner and co-owner are mentally unstable so cannot be trusted to supervise your horse when you're not there. If anyone needs any information just message me and I will be happy to fill you in on all aspects of it. 10 page report with photo and video evidence to follow (currently with my solicitor).
The loan arrangements they have at the farm are great, from one day to seven days a week. Always fine if I can't get up to do the horse on my loan day and also willing to swap days if I ask. Indoor facilities which is great for the weather up North!! I would recommend a friend to loan a pony from here.
