Terminal 5, Heathrow Airport is the gateway to West Africa from London. I frequently take off from here to Abuja, Nigeria's capital city. The terminal is not best I have been but it's okay. There is ample space to sit and relax while we await your next flight. There is free wifi. Connections to boarding gates are mostly by shuttle trains and boarding gates are displayed mostly 40mins before departure, giving you only about 15-20mins to locate your gate. So, you may want to be on the lookout for the displays so you navigate your way to the train platform as quickly as possible. Uber ride from here to London costs about 40. The lovely photo of umbrellas is at the exit gate of the terminal. What a bust of happy colours! Couldn't resist taking a photo
One of if not the best Terminals here at London Heathrow it really is a pleasure to sit and relax whilst waiting to take your flight to what ever destination you have chosen. The facilities are up to date and shops offer a wide range of services and food, beverages etc plus they cater for all ages from the youngest child to the young at heart.
Heathrow Terminal 5 is an airport terminal at Heathrow Airport, the main airport serving London. Opened in 2008, the main building in the complex is the largest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom. Terminal 5 is currently used exclusively as one of the three global hubs of International Airlines Group, served by British Airways and Iberia, with the others being London Gatwick South and Madrid Barajas Terminal 4. Prior to 2012, the terminal was used solely by British Airways. The terminal was designed to handle 35 million passengers a year. In 2015, Terminal 5 handled 33.1 million passengers on 215,716 flights; 44.6% of the airport's passengers on 46.6% of its flights with an average of 153 passengers per flight. It was the busiest terminal at the airport, measured both by passenger numbers and flight movements
You can no longer pick someone up for free!! This is ridiculous. When driving in to Terminal 5 if you follow the \passenger pick-up\ signs you end up having no choice but to take a ticket to enter the parking and then pay 3.80 to leave again. I thought I may have missed a sign but I queried it and this was confirmed. It is a complete joke and just encourages people to collect from the drop off zone.
