It was a pleasure to be back in such a wonderful traditional high quality shop. Since the covid break out we have done the right thing & not been carelessly shopping for unnecessary items. Coming up to the big man with his beard arriving we felt it our duty to take the 5 yr old see the talking tree (Stumpy) & delivered a very well written personal letter of (just a few) gifts which would be well received to Father Christmas by way of the postbox neatly placed opposite the cash desk. We were welcomed beautifully & all possible distancing was adhered to with respect from staff & customers. The little man also received a beautiful quality gift from a rather enchanting lady who was eager to chat to him in just the perfect way to make him feel like all wasn't lost because Santa was unable to visit this year Well worth the visit & 1 very happy little man came home to hot chocolate & biscuits with a cheery smile & excitement showing all over his face

This is a pretty cool place to visit. There is a marble museum bit, which has some impressive marble runs that you can make work with a button, and a impressive collection of marbles that you can look at, and some massive marbles too. There is also a selection of old marble games/glass bottles and things from the past you can look at that leads to the glass blowers workshop. You can watch the guys making vases and ornaments which is pretty cool. There is lots of handmade glass items that you can buy, they are obviously quite expensive as that's quite a rare thing to find now days. There is a cafe there too, we only had a coffee and scones but they were homemade and delicious! The shop is very big, there is a pick n mix of marbles which is cool, lots of glass/marble related things. There is clothing and accessories in the upstairs part of the shop. There is lots of homeware/gift things. It's a good place to go for a couple of hours.

What an excellent place, a must if you are in the area. You can even watch the glass makers make something in the workshop. Great shop too, with amazing gifts.

This is our second visit to House of Marbles for dinner in the restaurant, this is different to their general restaurant menu, this is fine dining at its best, hence our second visit.. If you’re looking for somewhere special for a meal with a loved one, or somewhere to impress or just a meal with friends or family, you won’t go wrong with here. From succulent Roasted Belly Pork to Posh Fish and Chips, the Baileys and Chocolate Torte to Banana and Rum Sticky Toffee Pudding, the food will want you going back for more. To top it off, why not throw in a little Xmas shopping before having dinner. Highly recommend you giving it a try

We have visited twice in as many weeks and each time treated ourselves to a meal in the restaurant. Lovely service, lovely food! Piping hot and tasty.... the homemade coleslaw is awesome! Bought some gifts from the 'upstairs' department which were then gift wrapped beautifully.
