Honestly one of the best vacations I ever took. You do need to have driven a boat before - these boats are sturdy, it’s mostly because you dock at marinas with very nice boats. Reversing is tricky which makes the locks a bit dicey, but pick a route with only a limited number and you will have a fantastic time with the family.

The experience was enjoyable. Would definitely recommend that you have prior boating experience as the Venetian canals can be busy. More upfront information about routes and moorings would have been useful as a lot of things are not apparent until you arrive at the boat base
