I could never convey the appreciation I feel for Dr. Lawrence Cisek and Dr. Travis Moncrief. While on a family trip, a parent’s worst nightmare became our reality. Our tiny 2 month baby, who only weighed 8 pounds, presented to the ER with extreme hypertension and a large mass that was covering over 50% of his abdomen. A team quickly assembled with Dr. Cisek leading the efforts. It became clear that our son’s case was not a typical occurrence, so many opinions were given. Dr. Cisek was absolutely amazing and was a straight shooter. He explained what they knew and never downplayed what they didn’t. I handed my tiny boy to them and awaited the unknown. Dr. Cisek and Dr. Moncrief spent hours operating on our son during an intricate and risky surgery. Their skills and expertise cannot be replicated and I could never repay them! After that surgery, we went back to DC where we would go through 6 new hospital systems and countless different doctors. Some who were “supposed to be” top specialists. There were some great docs but not THE BEST! No doctor has ever matched the level of expertise or made me feel as comfortable as Dr. Cisek and his colleague! Our son ultimately needed another surgery and we had to use a different doctor. I can tell you the experience was not good and I did not feel comfortable at all with the other doctors. Mostly because these docs set the standards high and gave us top notch care in our first experience. Dr. Cisek took time out to review our son’s case and share his opinion with the new surgeon before I agreed to the surgery. It has been 5 years, and sooo many doctors later, and Dr. Cisek and his team are still the ones I hold in the highest regard. If you ever find yourself in a position where you have to trust your child’s life on the hands of a stranger, Dr. Cisek’s miracle hands are the only ones I would trust! He is brilliant, compassionate, and THE BEST!

I would start off by saying if you do not have a diagnosis that requires regular communication with the urologist, you’ll be fine here. However for us, we need bi monthly visits/conversations. Dr Cisek himself is approachable and willing to listen to the patient. His PA is phenomenal. So kind, takes her time with the patient, and is thorough. I've had a horrible time with the assistant. I honestly tried \to get over it\ being she is not the doctor. However, she is the one we have to interact with the most when we have questions and such. We are switching urologist and I'm literally so relieved. My little one has special needs and when I have a question I'm seriously anxious knowing I have to call her. She's very blunt, dry and unhelpful. I can usually appreciate this kind of personality but not when I truly need help. Because of our issues and we are new to all of this, it would be nice and (necessary) to have someone more willing to assist in things. I would never recommend this doctor simply bc of her. There are more out of this world Urologist around the Houston Metro and many that are willing to assist patients in educating them with their diagnosis.
