Twenty-one years ago, our second son was born at another hospital. What they didn't know is that he had Hirschsprungz disease and could not pass a bowel movement, complete blockage. They sent us home with him and he swelled like a grape by the time we took him back to that other hospital. After becoming impatient with them, we called Texas Children's hospital and within four hours of our arrival Dr. Milewics had examined, diagnosed and prepped our two day old boy for emergency surgery. He had a colostomy bag for a year, but a year later Dr. Milewicz performed an abdominal pull-through (I think that was what it was called) and he has led a very normal life, even though he lost a good bit of his intestine. He has now been in the US Navy, serving proudly for two years and we have Dr. Milewicz to thank for that. Thank you Doctor.
