I used to rent a ground floor flat in central Brighton back in 2012 though this agency. Once somebody broke my bedroom window and stole my laptop. The incident was reported and investigated by the police and I had the written statement. The agency refused to replaced my window unless I was paying the amount of 75. I visited the citizen advise bureau to get legal advice and they provided me with a written statement that says that the agency is responsible for replacing the window as it is not something that has been caused by me or my visitors. Also they mentioned to me that the agency is probably doing that to me because I am young and foreigner so they can easily get my money. I was sleeping 4 weeks without window and covered the hole with cardboard and tape. After this time the police called me to ask if everything was okay with me. On the phone with the police officer, I explained the situation about my window not been replaced yet and then the police immediately called Baron Estates. The next day early in the morning the agency fixed my window (finally) and I thought the issue has been resolved. Finally when I moved out from the flat they deducted the 75 from my deposit. Avoid this company at all costs!!!!

Terrible terrible service. The property i rented out is infested with mice. In the description they stated it would be a modern apartment. Turns out I rented out a torn down apartment home to rodents. There were holes everywhere including the closet floors. I asked to get the wooden floors replaced in September. I am still waiting four months later. I kept on finding holes in almost all my clothes. Additionally, i had to wait for two days to get an exterminator to visit and place poison in certain areas. That didn't help at all since I kept seeing mice. When I talked to the company they stated that no one can help me out since it is the weekend and I have to wait until Monday. Please avoid renting properties through this company.
From someone who has worked at Baron Estates, I must say the integrity and hard work of all staff members seems to go un-noticed in these reviews. The Lettings Team, Sales Team and Property Management department all arrive early, leave late, and from first hand experience, work extremely hard. Nothing but admiration and gratitude, for a company that has had its fair share of difficult times, but has bounced back better than ever, and any landlord/vendor/buyer or tenant would be lucky to have Baron Estates dealing with their property. If I could give 6 stars, I would.

They are not even worth a star! I have rented for many years in the south east and have never had any issues my previous letting agencies. I'd also rather not spend time out of my day to make comments on how poor the service I have received but feel that any potential customers looking to rent or purchase with Baron estates need to run a mile!! So this is the experience we have had to date so far - - We have been charged for issues that have nothing to do with us. - The property still has management problems that have not been resolved after three months of moving in. - On our initial visit to the property after a 1 drive the viewing couldn't take they 'forgot the keys' and didn't offer to drive back to the office and rather us come back on another time. - Their referencing service is appalling and even had that voiced by a member of their staff! - On most occasions the service we receive is rude but on every single call and communication it is cold and unwilling. We will never recommend this firm to a friend or family member and have many good things to say about our previous experiences of estate agents. If you are a potential landlord looking to rent through this company look somewhere else, the tenants receive a shocking service.
So far the best agency I have ever rented out a property through. Very helpful and kind staff.
As a previous tenant, most i can say is that they are deposit thieves, honestly.. we rented out a place with a deposit of around 3.5K and we decided to raise it up to 6K just so we can pay 3 months upfront instead of 6 nothing more, but somehow they managed to rip us off nearly 5K from the deposit, keep in my mind the original deposit(of 3.5K) had all the furniture cost covered so even if we stole all the furniture with us its unjustifiable that they took more than the orginal deposit for damages. Please keep this in mind if you’re renting from them, or I’d say save yourself the trouble and just dont.
So disorganised. Properties are different from what the ads describe and show. They gave me a completely different description over the phone then when I went to see the property I got so disappointed. Avoid them please
