I have been a hosting with EF for about 25 years. I am still in contact with many of the students and their families from all over the world. Some of them now have children of their own. I have had invites from some of the students families to visit them in their homes which was lovely. It's been rewarding and I hope the students go home with great memories. As with everything it sometimes has its problems but the staff are always their to help and support you any time of day. EF also look after the families all year round, putting on Christmas, Easter and other events. I was also fortunate enough to win tickets to see take that at the 02 in their private box. I can highly recommend EF its a great way to earn some extra cash for holidays or something extra special.

Well this is my 6th year of hosting via EF in Brighton and during this period ive had over 100 students stay with me. The ages of the students has been between 12 and 18 , they’ve been from all walks of life and with varying levels of English. I’m happy to say that 99.9% of my students have had a happy time, the 0.1% are either too young to be away from family, homesick, or just struggle to mingle and make friends. I have 3 students at the moment and 1 of them was with me last year, she asked if she could come back to me again which I have to say is the biggest compliment ever. The times when I’ve needed to contact EF for assistance they’ve always been available and helpful. EF are not the biggest payers, you could earn more with other schools. However I would recommend that you take into account what they offer you as a Host Family ie full access to the students itinerary, 24 hour support, friendly staff, etc. Also the students are kept very busy with their evening/weekend activities eg Visits to London, Portsmouth, Bowling, LaserZone, Pool Parties (in the summer of course), etc. If you’re thinking about hosting, give it a go as it’s very rewarding.

I went to Brighton last Summer and it has been by far the best ever! I was for 4 weeks and I lived with a host family. I was awesome because I made friends from all around the world and I improved my English a lot!
