I put my property on the market with two established agencies initially. After 6 months (yes 6 months), I was fed up with the lack of professionalism and progress. There were occasions where the doors had been left unlocked post viewings or the lights were left on in the property. Both agencies had valued my property for me, then somehow pushed their inability to find a tenant on to myself. I was told the rent was too high (I based the rent on their valuation), or my criteria was too limited (e.g having no pets). I eventually lowered the rent as advised, only to be asked to lower it again about a month later. I was recommended to try Matthews Estate by a friend. I cannot even begin to explain the differences in the level of service I experienced. He assured me my rent was accurate, if not a little less than what he would have valued it at. However, with the uncertainty surrounding us due to the current pandemic, I decided to keep the value as it was. Matthew went above and beyond. He conducted virtual viewings when face to face ones were not permitted due to the pandemic. He kept me informed with changes to the law affecting landlords. Most importantly for me, He got the property rented within a month, without reducing the rent, without changing my tenant preferences. Without a doubt - the best estate agent I have had the pleasure to work with. I have no hesitation in recommending Matthews Estate. Thank you Matthew, your efforts were greatly appreciated :)
