I would give them zero stars if I could. The service was so bad it's hard to know where to start. We were going on holiday shortly after we started the process. The trainee that was dealing with us emailed us the forms to fill out. We filled them out the same day and i drove to the office to hand them to her. I explained we would be away for 2 weeks but were still in the uk and were able to respond to emails. When we got back we didn't hear anything for 2 weeks until our estate agent rang and said that we hadn't done all the paperwork. We spoke to the trainee and she said she had posted us paperwork while we were away. I'm not sure if this was a fib as we didn't receive anything. We then received it by email but were told to post it back. After another 2 weeks we chased. Apparently, the post had gone to the flat upstairs so they'd only just got it. After this it became very difficult to get through to them on the phone. The person that answered the phone sounded obviously irritated when we rang and we were always told no one was available to speak to us. Then the trainee left giving us a days' notice and the case was passed to someone else who did not seem familiar with it. We were being hassled from all sides as everyone was ready to exchange except us. When the move finally happened and we were happily in our new home we received a demand for the stamp duty along with penalties as the solicitors hadn't paid it - although we had paid it to them many weeks before. Our estate agent rang to say they also hadn't been paid. After some fraught emails and finally managing to get them on the phone they said they'd pay it but a month later I had another demand for more penalties. We moved on 1st November but it wasn't resolved until February. We were caused so much unnecessary stress. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere if you need a conveyencing solicitor.
