Huangpu, China
Lao Xi Men, Wenmiao Rd

The only place in Shanghai I found myself alone. Of course the whole place is gorgeous as well and this is only amplified by this.

They hold a used book market here on Sunday mornings. That is an interesting sight and place to walk around. The Confucius temple itself that holds the market is also beautiful to walk around and take in.
Nice enough, but quite small and all the temples in China start to look the same
Highly recommended to go during weekdays or non public holidays to avoid the crowd. It's a lovely, neat and serene Confucian temple. It's hidden in residential areas so you need to look for it. 10 RMB for the entrant fee which I think it's absolutely worth it.
Lovely and serene. Go here alone and experience the history in silence.
Temple was not very impressive but it was surrauded by like 15 shops with manga and anime stuff so I think this is some kind of Anime Street.
10 rmb for entrance. There are a few chinese calligraphy pieces and a temple in the main area. Limited English explanation in the exhibit. There's also a tea house, which staff is really unfriendly. You'd need to buy their tea to explore that section, otherwise they'd chase you out.
